Some More Cartoon Jazz

ANOTHER cartoon jazz? Wheeee. Now this is more jazzy. Catchy elevator music. I sort of wish there was a tiny bit more with the drums; a little syncopation. But for a menu loop, this is perfect. Another well done.

Super Cartoon Jazz

I agree with the Pokemon Stadium Mini-games comment. But dog construction workers, I can visualize that too...I see them sitting on the beams eating their dog food lunch hopping in time to the beat. Maybe like the tune to those black and white cartoons where everything has a happy face and is hopping to the music. Oh look, it's called super cartoon jazz. Well done. There's nothing wrong with this little showtune.

Rainy Day At The Casino

Very nice! I'm a little indifferent about that guitar lead being the focus of the attention for some melodic parts because the overall sound of it isn't...prominent. Maybe if it wasn't so amp'ed up and could be heard clearer. I also thought the drums were panned a bit too much to the right. But, everything else is kickin, even though it was slightly repetitive. The brass sounds are fantastic, the bass is great, and the piano drives on through very well. I really like the inclusion of the muted trumpet towards the end and how it wavered around the listening space. Overall, it's a pretty cool piece. Indeed, the imagery of a casino comes to mind with a cheerful crowd within trying to avoid the harsh storm outside. Great work!

Hotel Corridors

Cool! Now you can definitely go for a second attempt! I love the little synths added and the overall feel of the piece, the drums are a smooth touch. I thought it could be even written in a way that it looped and would make the perfect hotel corridor music. Well basically, now that you have your foot in the door, you could experiment a lot more with this style. Great work!

In A Strange Rapture

Love it. The piano is really really crazy. Maybe too crazy for some people, but I personally like how much you travel across the ivories. This actually I thought could be extended just a little further. It felt like it abruptly ended. I dunno. Maybe I'm just mad because it ended right when I was really getting into the groove of it. But all in all, what a great jazz piece! I can hear a restaurant ambience chattering in the background. Great work!

Hey there!

I am really glad you like it because i have heard lots of your pieces and did really enjoy them - especially the Puppet Show :D
The reason why it did end so abruptly is that i do have just so little time at the moment because i have to learn for my exams :/ But if you say its to short then i believe in your judgement. Maybe it will take 1 or 2 months till i will get the time to continue, but i promise: I will extend it and inform you when its done :D

Thanks for the kind review!

Chris

!-Passage-!

I just started dancing really gayly to this. It at first reminded me of Super Monkey Ball 2 music. But the chimes and the dubstep quality halfway through gave it a little extra oomph to sound different. Wow...I really like this. I think the strings around 2:00 were a little off-putitng, but that's about it. I mean, maybe the mix of the main synth could be toned down a little, but blasting it in my face is also great (that's what she said). Anyways, really cool song here! The pauses were added in accordingly and breakdowns were awesome. Fantastic song!

Wow thankyou for the beautiful review!! :)

Punkmetalguy31 Voice Demo

Can I just say that I love that voice at 0:22. Anyways, what a versatile set of voices. At 1:04 I thought of Nylocke, Dragon of Superhero Greetings! (especially the way you said "greetings") That can only mean you are destined for greatness. Such a plethora of voices is quite enviable...quite...

But yeah...great stuff here!

CallumBowenresponds:

thank you :D I had others planned but I did not have much time. I will be doing more very soon ;)

Journey Through My Mind

I definitely like how this is split into different parts, like the different environments in a real journey. That opening part got me pumped, it sounded like the introduction to a really epic DnB action soundtrack...and then it wasn't, which was both a pleasant surprise and also a disappointing one. This journey through your mind sounds like a mess, and I mean that more in a good way than a bad way; it's artful. The dissonance and blatant differences in all of the melodies express how chaotic it must be in there. Sometimes the piano part, and especially that string sting, seemed out of place amongst a predominantly synth-based song. Other than that everything else is pretty cool, especially the beat and that beginning part. Nice work!

Athanatosresponds:

I liked the way you explained everything, and I'll keep all that in mind while creating the 'Part 2'.

The Orientation

It is indeed listenable. It is like an alternative backing track for a hip-hop song. Pretty good backing track actually, would be perfect to hear a voice over this whether it be sung or rapping. It's also sounding like an ambient song too. It's got a nice groove to it and a fresh set of synth sounds that go great together. I even think the length of the piece is perfect in its conciseness. Honestly, you've got a great idea here that is good the way it is or with some extra touches added to it. I, personally, would enjoy a free-form saxophone part going over this to make it a really neat electronic jazz. But yeah...great work!

Chadwick0responds:

Hey, thanks for your feedback, I too would love to have some vocals of some kind on this. Wish I cold play the sax, I actually have one but Im not very good at it yet.

Jazz Ballad

You hit that jazz nail right on the head with a groove hammer........

You mimicked the atmosphere of a studio or an actual place very well. And if this was actually recorded live, well shoot forget I said that. There's honestly nothing off about this. You've got your quintessential instruments, a catchy melody, and a perfect duration. And to top it all off, it ended out of the ordinary, making it stand out. I imagine a hoarse voiced man reading a melancholy love poem. Or y'know, the typical high class restaurant setting...or a dingy bar. This could fit with so many scenarios. Perfect work!
