On 05/31/2024, at approximately 2106 hours, AST obtained a report of a domestic dispute between a male and female individual from Kenai. Investigation revealed the male individual, Branden Dobbs, age 52 of Kenai, was arrested for DV Assault in the 4th degree (fear) and remanded at Wildwood pretrial.

On May 31, 2024 at approximately 2225 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a Sutton residence for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that Shannon Davis, 37 years old of Palmer, had recklessly caused physical injury to a family member. Shannon was remanded to Mat Su Pre-Trial and charged with one count of Fourth Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).

On May 31st, 2024, at approximately 2256 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an assault on Wasilla Fishhook. Investigation revealed, Christopher Josephson, age 49 of Wasilla, had committed the crime of Assault 4th against a family member. Christopher is currently being held without bail at MSPT pending arraignment.

On 06/01/2024 AST responded to a disturbance in Wasilla. Following the investigation Stanley “Mike” Barron, age 39 of Wasilla, was arrested and remanded to MSPT for two counts of DV-related assault in the fourth degree. Further investigation led to the charges of DV-related Assault in the third degree, Interfering with a report of a DV crime, and Criminal mischief in the fifth degree, being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office due to a prior unreported incident.

Investigation showed that Kyle Kokrine was operating his side by side ATV on the roadway while intoxicated. He crashed the machine and his passenger was injured to the point he was transported to the hospital via ambulance. Kyle was remanded to FCC for DUI

On 06/01/2024 at approximately 1225 hours, AST in Fairbanks took a REDDI report on Chena Pump Road for dangerous driving behavior. AST was able to contact the vehicle and investigation resulted in the arrest of Nicholas Hubach, age 31 of Fairbanks. Nicholas was remanded at FCC for DUI, Refusal, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On 5/31/2024 at 1707 hours, the Fairbanks Rural Unit received information from Ft Yukon about a boat traveling to Ft Yukon from Old Crow, Canada. Theinformation revealedthat there was an overdose in the Canadian community of Old Crow and the dealer who had sold the drugs was traveling to Ft Yukon. Detailed information on the boat and who was traveling was also provided. All individuals on the boat were Canadian citizens and were identified as a 41 years old, 50 years old, 27 years old, and 24 years old.
A VPSO was contacted in the Ft Yukon community. The VPSO contacted the boat while Fairbanks Rural Troopers applied for a search warrant for the boat and passengers. Drug paraphernalia was discovered as well as three dead black ducks. It is also believed that one of the passengers was able to dispose of suspected narcotics in the river prior to the contact with the VPSO. The boat was seized and stored in Ft Yukon secured until Fairbanks Rural Unit and Fairbanks Areawide Narcotics Team served the search warrant on 6/1/2024.
A small quantity of narcotics were seized from a backpack in the boat. The search also revealed two firearms and assorted ammunition.
Interviews were conducted with the members of the boat. Investigation revealed that two members of the boat had taken three black ducks in Canada and illegally transported them across the border into the United States. All members of the boat had illegally entered the US. Two of the members were illegal aliens in possession of firearms.
The investigation continues with cooperation between the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Tanana Chief Conference VPSOs, Homeland Security Investigations, Fairbanks Areawide Narcotics Team (FANT), Federal Fish and Wildlife, and Fairbanks Rural Unit on multiple different charges to include Human Smuggling.
