Yah, they are in full denial mode now. To the point they are like “Pope is the perfect coach for us” when literally three weeks ago they were laughing at the idea. My favorite was one poster who said Pope wasn’t even in his top 15 and he did5 know why their AD was wasting resources to fly out for what was OBVIOUSLY just a courtesy interview.

I will because its likely going to be a very rough couple of years and its going ot be a good reminder just how lucky we were to have the transition from Brown -> Roy -> be so smooth. Each coach was a supporter of the program still, etc.

Our "rough years" were high rankings with recruits, tons of wins and league championships and a couple of early tourney flameouts and nothing more.

Cal leaving actually rejuvenates my interest. It’s always been about their fans. Their fans suck. So bad. I don’t want them to experience happiness.

I have to laugh about their constant change of opinion regarding JQ. He committed there to Calipari. “Yeah! Five star who has to stay two years!”
He decommitted. “We didn’t want him anyway and he won’t fit Popes system.” JQ has eliminated Arkansas and is down to three schools for him to recommmit to. Wouldn’t ya know it. UK is one of those three. “Let’s go get him back! He will be great for the new system! Make it happen, Pope!”

Do they want him or not?! I’m sure if he picks Memphis State over them this time, they will change their story yet again to “We didn’t want him anyway.”

I'm all in on this. I hope Cal and Arky do well and that BBN reverts to threads trying to figure out how to get enough wins for an NCAA Tourny invite.

Thoughts on this Osobor guy that Kentucky's recruiting? 6'8 dude who doesn't seem particularly quick and can't shoot at all. Why is he so highly rated in the portal? Seems like he's just been taking advantage of small, inferior midmajor opponents.

Gansta move!?! It was what he was doing for a decade plus with Nike before NIL. UK was topping anyone's best offer. Market dynamics have changed and Calipari figured a way to replicate that in the NIL world - find a passionate program with an inferiority complex and some uber-wealthy donors that love basketball. He's operating in a blank check environment again. If he coached as well as he works the system, Wooden's record would be his.

What would be hilarious is if the Arkansas game was the most fundamental team we’ve ever seen next year and all his rantings about “they can’t be coached” were true.

Best scenario will be UK loses tons of recruits to Arkansas and then Arkansas faceplants in the NCAA Tourney. Win-Win

I thought we were hearing about how much Arkansas was spending on recruits last year in football and basketball and that didn't work out well. All they have to show for it is a basketball coach that left, a football coach on the hot seats, no bowl game or NCAA tournament, and a three-way love affair.

Cal can have all the NIL money in the world but if he can't coach, he can't coach.

That is my dream as well. He has always been a slimy, smug douche. Kentucky chose him. I hope not only does he continue to decline but that he burns them just like he burned every other school he has been at.

The only way it could get better is if, now that he isn't protected, something comes out from the championship year that on the level of Louisville and Kentucky gets burned even more for associating with him at all.
