Hello Everyone!
View attachment 2888573
Today I bring you a fully complete guide to the berserker class! This guide will include setups for each stage of the game, all items explained and tips for all catacombs floors. I will start with explaining berserker's role in the party and class abilities then move on to viable gear and floor tips. Without further a do, let's begin!
Introduction: Berserker's Role in a Party
It's one of the 3 DPS Classes in dungeons, others being Mage and Archer, focusing on Magic damage and Arrow damage respectively. Berserker focuses on melee damage output (both close and long range but that depends on your gear), mainly on single high HP targets. It's the only DPS class that can use every other classes' weapons and perform almost equally well.
Chapter I - Class Abilities
Berserker has 2 dungeon orb abilities, 2 passives and 2 ghost abilities.
Dungeon Orb Abilities:
Throwing Axe - Throw an Axe, dealing the same damage as your highest hit in the last minute.
Cooldown: 10s
Very good passive for extra damage with a really short cooldown. Perfect way to increase your DPS at lower and higher levels.
Ragnarok - Summon 3 zombie minions to aid you in battle!
Cooldown: 60s
This ability is useful for newbies as they don't have good DPS and these minions really make up for it. However it's pretty much useless for late game berserkers as the zombies die too fast and do little to no damage to stronger targets at higher floors.
Class Passives
Bloodlust - Your next hit after killing a monster deals X% increased damage and heals you for X% of the damage dealt. This bonus will expire after 5 seconds. Reduces the cooldown on Throwing Axe by 1 second on activation.
A decent passive to increase your dps by charging other abilities and making your attacks stronger, although the healing does not seem to work at the moment.
Lust for Blood - Every time you hit an enemy, increases the damage you deal to that enemy by X% up to a maximum of X%.
This passive is incredibly powerful and is the reason why berserker is a good class in the first place. If you have high bonus attack speed and ferocity you can SHRED bosses as well as minibosses. Powerful regardless of your stage of the game.
Ghost Abilities
Buff Potion - Throw a potion which temporarily gives all teammates in a 10 block radius +30 Strength.
Ghost Axe - Throw an Axe, dealing damage based on your Berserk level.
NOTE: All of the abilities above get stronger the higher your Berserker level is!
Chapter II - Gear
Arguably the most important part of the class. I will be listing everything that is worth using and rating it on a 1 to 10 scale.
1. Talisman and Gear Reforges
Any damage reforges are viable but what is important is which talismans have what reforges to keep your Strength to Crit Damage ratio 1:1 while also having lots of attack speed.
Talisman Reforges:
- Strong | Default blacksmith reforge, best for legendary and mythic talismans (Replace with shaded for extra crit chance if you are using a terminator bow).
- Shaded | Dark Orb reforge stone from Floor 5, put on every talisman EXCEPT EPIC.
- Strange | Default blacksmith reforge, gives more attack speed than bloody but only epic talismans ONLY PUT ON EPICS.
- Silky | Luxurious Spool reforge stone that drops on the broodmother, gives alot of crit damage and is useful for balancing your Strength to Crit Damage ratio.
- Bloody | Beating Heart reforge stone that drops from watcher's blood room mobs or secret bats, gives attack speed and the same crit damage as shaded. Very good for getting lots of attack speed.
Enrichments: Ferocity is your goal but any other damage ones work aswell.
Weapon Reforges:
- Withered | Wither Blood Reforge stone obtained from F7, Good for weapons like FoT to get lots of defense with Baby Yeti pet and for getting consistent damage numbers, Is cheaper than fabled and is better than it at just cata 16.
- Fabled | Dragon Claw Reforge stone obtained from dragons, Good if you want as much damage as possible, inconsistent but high damage values, high damage for a high price.
- Dirty | Dirt Bottle Reforge stone obatined from Smithmonger NPC (Next to blacksmith), The only reforge that grants ferocity, Incredible if you are using a livid dagger or a shadow fury for left click damage.
- Suspicious ඞ | Suspicious Vial ඞ Reforge stone obtained from F3, Best reforge stone for crit damage and necron's blade if you need healing since wither shield scales with crit damage.
Armor Reforges:
- Ancient | Precursor Gear Reforge stone obtained from F7, The best reforge for armor you can ask for, super cheap to buy and apply, not even that rare to drop, Becomes better than fierce at cata 15
Yeah you don't have much of a choice when it comes to armor lmao
2. Weapons
Aspect of the Dragons [5/10] - Very solid for starting your dungeons journey but you should get your hands on something better as soon as possible.
Price: 800k - 1.2m
Requirements: Combat 18, Catacombs 17 (when dungeonized)
Flower of Truth [8/10] - Your dream as a starter berserker. Great weapon with decent damage, amazing clearing abilities and no requirements to use! Although after all the nerfs that happened it's nowhere near as good as it used to be but it's still the best weapon you can ask for.
Price: 4.2m - 6m coins
Requirements: None!
Livid Dagger [4.5/10] - Solid weapon known for granting maximum Crit Chance and Attack Speed, allowing the player to optimize their talismans for pure damage. For it's low price it's good but you can stick to your FoT and save up for a shadow fury which does way more damage with properly reforged talismans. I still recommend it if you can't buy a shadow fury.
Price: 7m - 11m coins
Requirements: Floor 5 Completion
Soul Whip [3/10] - Very good for lifesteal but contrary to popular belief it's not nearly as good for clearing as a flower of truth or juju shortbow. Maybe it's just me but it's really impractical having to precisely aim at every enemy.
Price: 15.5m - 29m
Requirements: Fishing 26, Catacombs 23 (when dungeonized)
Shadow Fury [9/10] - Incredible sword with very high damage stats and a super cool ability. With properly reforged talismans and Enchantments it outdamages a livid dagger and flower of truth by a long shot, also a very good sword for AotS swapping but more on that later. This would be a perfect weapon but there's something even stronger and it's quite GIANT...
Price: 19.5m - 30m
Requirements: Floor 5 Completion
Giant's Sword [10/10] - Currently the best sword for single-hit damage in the game. Another great weapon for AotS swapping but with the now nerfed-to-the-ground One for All enchant it doesn't have much of a use. Unless Tier 6 enchants turn out to be better better than OFA.
Price: 145m - 190m
Requirements: Floor 6 Completion
Axe of the Shredded [10/10] - The 2nd best weapon for berserkers. The ability when swapping with stronger weapons like giant's sword or valkyrie SHREDS EVERYTHING, especially with high ferocity. Thrown axes ignore invincibility frames which means they hit every tick (0.05s) so 20 times PER SECOND, add ferocity which has a chance for each of the 20 strikes to proc a 2nd time AND remember that each hit increases the lust for blood passive power. It's just an amazing weapon and every berserker should have one.
Price: 80m - 130m
Requirements: Zombie Slayer 8, Catacombs 25 (when dungeonized)
Few tips before using it:
- You MUST have a weapon to swap with when using an axe of the shredded, otherwise you damage will be pitiful.
- It is NOT A CLEARING WEAPON.
-When using it in dungeons it MUST HAVE ULTIMATE WISE 5. You won't be using this axe for left click damage in dungeons which makes ultimate wise the best option allowing for more axes to be thrown.
Juju Shortbow [9.5/10] - One of the best clearing and DPS weapons the game has to offer. I strongly recommend using Bouncy Arrows with the bow to make it comparable to archer clearing. You only need 67 attack speed to max out the firing rate + adding ferocity to the mix you can mince minibosses in seconds and clear quickly aswell. Please don't liquidate your networth just for this bow tho, you will just become another statistic and never get accepted into parties if you have no decent gear or gamesense.
Price: 25m - 75m
Requirements: Enderman Slayer 3, Catacombs 15 (when dungeonized)
Valkyrie [10/10] - The berserker-oriented necron's blade. Grants a whopping 60 base ferocity which automatically makes it the best weapon for DPS and AotS swapping. It can be used for super fast clearing with the wither impact ability. Just left-clicking with max attack speed and over 100 ferocity this sword shreds minibosses nearly as well as axe of the shredded. Severely underrated.
Price: 1.1b - 2b
Requirements: Floor 7 Completion
Terminator [10/10] - The most powerful berserker weapon currently available. This bow is the solution to all your dungeon problems, too little damage? Get a terminator. No lasers? Get a terminator. No ranged damage? Get a terminator. You get it, it's incredibly powerful in all situations and the 2nd best clearing weapon right behind the necron's blade. It has by far the highest requirements out of any weapon mentioned here.
Price: 950m - 1.4b
Requirements: Enderman Slayer 7, Catacombs 27 (when dungeonized)
How to Aots Swap:
1. Up close swapping:
Prefire a bunch of axes before engaging to build up the Lust for Blood damage bonus. If it's a Lost Adventurer, make sure the boss has used the Dragon's Breath ability which does heavy knockback and is just annoying to deal with. If it's any other minibosses then immediately ice spray the target and begin to swap:
- Use Throwing Axe
- Hit it with swapping weapon
- Use Throwing Axe
- Hit it with swapping weapon
- Repeat until the miniboss dies.
This may be difficult at first but you can run solo F7/M1 to practice on high HP minibosses and eventually you'll get the hang of it. If you're still having trouble then I recommend putting your swapping weapon in the first hotbar slot and your Axe in the second one. That way you can use the number 1 key and scroll wheel to swap much quicker and it's really easy to learn.
2. Regular swapping
When you can't reach your target or you engage a large group of enemies, just throw your axe and swap to your weapon back and forth. You must have Mana Steal on your axe to regen mana otherwise you run out of mana and cannot deal any damage.
It's really easy to learn but I strongly recommend learning both methods to be as efficient as possible.
How to aots swap on Terracottas and Sadan's Giants:
Stand in the middle with your team and look in the direction of the entry portal. When terracottas start turning their heads, spam throw axes and the moment they jump in your direction, swap to your weapon, keep throwing more axes to regen your mana and keep swapping while doing so. When the 1st wave is done, you can wait 3s to regen mana and health but when terracotta heads appear on the clay, start throwing axes again and start swapping when most of them have respawned.
Aots is actually better than terminator on giants because of the 250% damage bonus to zombies. Teleport up to the giant's cage and when the first cage is broken start swapping. If you are high enough cata with a good party, you can kill it before it touches the ground.
For the last phase just throw axes directly at sadan as your party will most likely kill it instantly.
How to aots swap on all phases of Necron:
After all crystals are placed just fire a bunch of axes at necron. You don't even need to swap because his shield is very fragile and easy to break.
During the 2nd phase if your party says to prefire aggro as many withermancers as you can. After landing run to the purple pillar and throw axes at the pad area to kill the withermancers there and make your or someone else's job a bit easier. When necron is crushed use the close up swapping technique (if you can't reach necron then do the regular swap).
During the 4th phase you should swap normally because necron does so much true knockback you won't be able to get close to him until he goes to the middle where you can finish him off.
3. Armor
Unstable Dragon Armor [4/10]
- A decent starting set for entrance and maybe floor 1. You should just buy 3/4 strong dragon with a tarantula helmet which does way more damage. If you lack crit chance then stick with unstable.Price: 750k - 1.3m
Requirements: Combat Level 16, Catacombs 15 (when dungeonized)
Strong Dragon Armor [5/10] - The better version of unstable. I highly recommend you buy this set without the helmet, as the tarantula helmet will give way more damage than strong dragon helmet. This should be your bare minimum for floor 1.
Price: 3.9m - 4.5m
Requirements: Combat Level 16, Catacombs Level 16 (when dungeonized)
Superior Dragon Armor [2/10] - It was a good set maybe 2 years ago. For it's price you can buy shadow assassin armor which does way more damage. It's not a bad set but there's so many different and better options to go for. It's a good starter for floor 1 and 2 but if you have it then sell it and buy something better.
Price: 29m - 34m
Requirements: Combat Level 20, Catacombs Level 19 (when dungeonized)
Zombie Knight Armor [6/10] - A very good set for early game berserkers giving fairly good damage stats and EHP. I recommend this set if you need to trade some damage for EHP.
Price: 300k-650k
Requirements: Catacombs Level 14
Skeleton Master Armor [6/10] - An archer set stronger than a berserker? This is some flawless game design right there hypixel. This set with good quality from a high floor is considerably stronger than zombie knight but has around 15% less EHP than zombie knight. I recommend this set if you're confident the floor you're doing and are willing to trade EHP for more damage.
Price: 250k-750k
Requirements: Catacombs Level 12
Shadow Assassin Armor [9/10] - The infamous shadow assassin set. Super good for any damage class in and out of dungeons. Although you might need an EHP pet since this set doesn't give much defense or health. It's your #1 goal as a strating berserker and you should skip the previous set if you meet the requirements for this one and
CAN AFFORD A DECENTLY MAXED SA SET. Don't liquidate your networth for this armor if you can't buy it 5 starred and fragged. If you can't afford the chestplate, replace with the highest quality zombie knight chestplate you can use as it performs equally if not better than a shadow assassin one.
Price: 11.4m (without chestplate) - 40.2m (with chestplate)
Requirements: Floor 5 Completion
Necron's Armor [10/10] - The best set for berserker currently available, giving highest damage stats and reduced damage from withers also if you plan on buying this set don't buy the helmet, instead buy a golden/diamond boss head from whatever floor you plan on doing. It's the best set for damage in the game but the upcoming nether revamp might change that. You must get this set if you are planning to do Floor 7. No one will let you in their party with shadow assassin armor. Grind out the money for it by playing lower floors like 5 or 6 and buy a F7 carry from a trusted discord server to use it.
Price: 83m - 134m
Requirements: Floor 7 Completion
Frozen Blaze Armor [10/10] - This set is actually better than necron at high catacombs levels and in master mode (Except M7 when it comes out) or if you use the intended game mechanic known as pet stacking. I will refer to this video by 15h and yarns which shows a comparison between the 2 in different situations. You must have a legendary Level 100 Blaze pet to make this set worth using. If you can't afford a max blaze pet then stick to necron armor.
Price: 78.4m (Armor), 156.4m (Armor + Max Blaze Pet)
Requirements: None!
4. Pets
Wither Skeleton Pet [6/10]
- A very good budget damage pet, very easy to level up and a solid option for Floor 7. The 3rd ability gives an insane damage boost and reduced damage from withers even with the announced nerfs makes it the best choice for begginer F7 gamers.Price: 8.9m (Level 100 Legendary)
Griffin Pet [7/10] - Solid pet for both early and late game berserkers. At uncommon rarity it grants the user permanent regeneration V and strength VII which is both extra healing and damage. At legendayr rairty the user is granted 15% more overall strength when above 85% health which is actually stronger than legendary tiger even with the 20% damage bonus.
I recommend this pet if you are aots swapping with a weapon like giant's sword for maximum single hit damage.
Price: 4m (Level 100 Uncommon) - 42.7m (Level 100 Legendary)
Tiger Pet [8/10] - Another pet that's getting nerfed on alpha network from 50% extra ferocity to 30%. It's still the best pet for berserkers behind edrag and gdrag if you're AotS swapping. I highly recommend it especially on F7 when necron is mostly alone and the 3rd ability grants an insane damage boost.
Price: 33m (Level 100 Legendary)
Black Cat Pet [7.5/10] - This pet is purely for QoL. If you are high enough catacombs level and don't need damage or EHP during clear then the black cat is your best option, giving lots of speed (and magic find for that sweet ice spray) and faster runs as a result.
Price: 55m (Level 100 Legendary)
Baby Yeti Pet [10/10] - The best EHP pet for berserkers that is also getting nerfed but it gets stronger exponentially. This is a highly recommended pet over blue whale for newbies and a way to replace a tank in your party with another DPS class.
Price: 37m (Level 100 Legendary)
Ender Dragon Pet [10/10] - The best all-around pet for damage and EHP. Everyone already knows how good it is, tierboosted or not. If you can afford this pet, buy it.
Price: 560m (Level 100 Tierboosted), 800m (Level 100 True Legendary)
Golden Dragon Pet [10/10] - Absolute best pet for damage with a complete disregard for EHP. It's getting buffed in the next update making it even more broken. This pet is also the 2nd most expensive pet in the whole game (including the 1b needed for the 3rd ability).
>>>YOU NEED 1 BILLION COINS IN YOUR BANK TO EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THIS PET<<<
Price: 560m (From npc), 1.56b (Npc + 1b bank), 1.22b (Level 200 Legendary), 2.22b (Level 200 Legendary + 1B Bank)
Chapter III - Tips for all Floors
Now that you have chosen your weapon, your armor set and pets. I will list tips for each floor, minimal cata level, setup what loot you want to look for.
Floor 1
Minimum Catacombs Level: 3
Gear: 3/4 Strong Dragon + Tarantula Helmet, Aotd, Any pet
Tips:
Phase 1: Just have your whole team focus bonzo. Don't stand by and keep moving around to not get hit by his wither skulls when he goes on top of a pillar.
Phase 2: Focus bonzo again and when he does the showtime attack, hide behind one of the pillars and have the mage or archer peek out and kill him from afar.
Valuable Loot: Bonzo's Staff (2m from chest), Recomb (5m from chest)
Floor 2
Minimum Catacombs Level: 8
Gear: Same as Floor 1
Tips:
Phase 1: Your team should focus the priest first so the other undeads aren't healed. Then focus the warrior as his charge attack can easily 1 shot you and your team. Then just kill the rest of the undeads.
Phase 2: Again, focus the priest, then warrior and just kill scarf. When he activates the wither skull attack, immediately hide somewhere because you will get melted by it.
Valuable Loot: Scarf's Studies (50k-500k from chest)
Floor 3
Minimum Catacombs Level: 14
Gear: Full Fierce 5 starred Skeleton Master armor, Flower of truth, Rare Blue Whale (if you need EHP) or Any damage pet
Tips:
Phase 1: 4 of the party members come up to the 4 guardian and the 5th person should focus the reinforced guradian as it's significantly tankier and may go down alot slower than others.
Phase 2: Just kill the professor. Not much going on here.
Phase 3: Whole party should stand all rogue guardians that are alive and stand at the very center of the room and kill professor from there.
Valuable Loot: Recomb (5m from chest) F3 is just bad don't do it.
Floor 4
Minimum Catacombs Level: 18
Gear: 3/4 5 starred Shadow Assassin armor + Zombie Knight Chestplate, Flower of truth for clearing + Livid dagger for minibosses and boss and Baby Yeti pet because this bossfight can kill even Cata 50 players
Tips:
During boss: As a DPS class, It is recommended that you stay inside the arena and kill spirit animals and the spirit bear when it spawns. Only take the spirit bow if you are absolutely sure you can hit Thorn, otherwise let someone else shoot him.
Valuable Loot: Spirit Wing (2m from chest), Recomb (5m from chest)
Floor 5
Minimum Catacombs Level: 22
Gear: 3/4 or full Ancient fragged 5 star Shadow Assassin Armor + golden boss head + zombie knight chestplate if cannot afford SA, Flower of truth or SE 3, Ov 3 Spiritual Juju Shortbow for clearing + Shadow Fury or Livid dagger for minibosses and boss, Baby Yeti recommended if you don't have a tank
Tips:
During Boss: Go up to the left side of the boss room and Teleport up to the upper area next to the old eagle spot. From there just rain your damage on livid until the correct one is killed.
Valuable Loot: Legion Book (1m from chest), Overload Book (200k-500k from chest), Shadow Fury (15m from chest), Shadow Assassin Chestplate (6m from chest), Dark Orb (250k from chest), Recomb (5m from chest)
Floor 6
Minimum Catacombs Level: 25
Gear: 2/4 Necron Armor + Zombie Knight Chestplate and Golden boss head or 3/4 Full 5 starred Ancient fragged Shadow Assassin armor + Golden boss head, Flower of truth for clearing and SE 4, Ov 4 Spiritual Juju Shortbow for boss, If you don't have a tank, Baby Yeti. If you do, Tiger or wither skeleton.
Tips:
Phase 1: Whole party should go to the center of Sadan's Hall and wait for the terracottas to spawn.
It slows down the run by around 30 seconds and might end up in someone getting killed by a golem. Killing a terracotta shortens the phase duration by 1 second (1 minute and 30 seconds by default) so having good damage is important here.
Phase 2: After the terracottas despawn, stand right behind Bigfoot's cage (or any giant no one is camping). When the cage breaks use your juju to the max and after your giant is dead, take care of the remaining ones.
Phase 3: Sadan will most likely be sent into space by the archer so just shoot wherever he is.
Valuable Loot: Recomb (5m from chest), Giant's Sword (25m from chest), Summoning Ring (12m from chest),
Precursor Eye (30m from chest)
Floor 7
Minimum Catacombs Level: 31
Gear: 3/4 Necron + Golden boss head, Max SE5, Ov5 Spiritual Juju for clear and Aots with at least a shadow fury to swap with for minibosses and boss, If you are struggling in clear use a baby yeti and swap to a wither skeleton in boss. If you are confident you can use any of your damage pets for both clear and boss.
Tips:
Phase 1: Use the lava on your left or right side and bounce to the top of it, then use your bonzo staff to rocket jump to the crystal. After necron starts moving immediately run to the conveyor belt and lure necron to the laser. Pretty straight forward.
Phase 2: When going down to 2nd phase, your party will either say "pf" meaning to aggro and kill the withermancers at the bottom, if they say "no pf" then wait until you are on the ground to kill the withermancers.
This will end up in your entire party getting nuked by wither skulls that are spawned when a withermancer dies. Only prefire when you are absolutely sure everyone will survive. After you have landed, head over to the purple pillar and (if no one did before you) rocket jump over to the pad and lift it up slightly. The tank will try and upcrush necron, if they fail lift up the pillar and crush necron the normal way. When you crush successfully do the up close swapping technique and after your party brings necron down to 50% health, head over to the red pillar and go down to phase 3.
Phase 3: Do the terminal section you called before the run. Not much here.
Phase 4: When going straight down start throwing axes to hit necron with fully charged ones. Swap and hit necron as much as possible here. When he goes to middle, use your bonzo staff and jump to his platform and pump out as much damage as you possibly can.
Valuable loot: Necron's Handle (35m from chest), Wither Chestplate (10m from chest), Wither Catalyst (1m-2m from chest), Soul Eater Book (1m-2m from chest), One for All Book (2m from chest), Wither Shield (3.3m from chest), Implosion (3.3m from chest), Shadow Warp (3.3m from chest), Wither Leggings (6m from chest), Wither Blood (2.5m from chest)
Final Verdict:
Thanks for reading this guide! Please write any suggestions if you have an idea on how to make this guide better. This was supposed to be my 1k post special but I waited until winter break so I can make it in peace.
And before you ask: "Are you even qualified to make a guide like this?" I'll say I'm not some cata 50 sweat with an arsenal of QoL mods but I'm not a complete non either (https://sky.shiiyu.moe/stats/UnityPusheen/Pomegranate).
Anyways, that's it from me now and goodbye.
