dishes bells lamps and oddments kepi the auctioneer busy for well onto two hours old glassware pewter and silver reallied quite fabulous pricesone small cranbetry and silver pickle cruel selling for stevenson of yorkshire england have been visiting mr and mrs ronald lister and mr and mrs wayne lister and their families mrs leafe is a sister of the lister brothers mr and mrs arnold w ilkinson of tuslin dlifomia arc visiting her brother mr jack roughley mrs roughley and family mr and mrs a v benton and mr t h price visited mr and mrs wilfrid greenlees at campbellville on sunday and attended the service at st davids presbyterian church rev dr e h johnson moderator of the general assembly of the presbyterun church in canada spoke on the nigeria biafra conflict and assisted in the icdtdication of the newly decorated church sanctuary and the official opening and dedication of the new nuntc mr and mrs ted brown and mr and mrs bill kjrnv isitcd in london on sunday a pleasant time was spent in limcliouir memorial hall on friday evening when on behalf ol the community bert benton presented a vjcmni cleaner to mr and mrs janw s ruddell nee susan smith mrs bert benton called the recently married couple lorund and mis jack lauson read the poetical address both expressed then ilunu mr and mrs fred pichl and mr harold karn provided music lor dancing and mrs jack crichton acted as floor manager lunch rounded out the evening by mrs f macarthur the c c c ladies journeyed to toronto by cars on wednesday afternoon september 10 and held their regular monthly meeting as guests at the home of mrs verna stephen a former member of our group after a short visit together our president opened the meeting with prayer and a short reading mrs rev fosbury gave the devotions chooung for tier topic thf unknown voice scripture leading was james 3rd chapter verses 113 two hymns were sung with accompaniment on the accordion played by mrs d anderson mrs fosbury read a wonderful poem as well and closed with pjayer mrs f thompson read the minutes of the last meeting also the roll call was answered by each one naming their favorite hymn thank you notes were read by mrs a winter also visits and flowers or gifts to the sick were reported the financial report was given by mrs w thompson in the absence of mrs l swackhamer mrs stephen read a wonderful poem which she had ready to give on our program the meeting closed with the mtzpah prayer and all hands clasped a delicious lunch was served by nur hostess mrs ii griffin courtesy convener thanked mrs stephen for the lunch also for the lovely time we spent as her guests quarterly board meeting will be held on wednesday evening september 24 in churchill church everyone is welcome and they hope for all memberi to be present congratulations to mr and mrs bob kerr on the arrival of a baby boy in guelph general hospital on tuesday afternoon september 9 jeffery stephen mr and mrs eddie storey and r t of orillia e home on sunday and visited her father mr w j mcdonald who is still a patient in guelph general hospital we all join in wishing him a speedy recovery and hope he will soon be back home again mr don anderson and son donald were at the hunt club near bracebndge on saturday and sunday guests at the home of rev and mrs a w fosbury in acton on sunday were mrs dey also miss scott of gait mr and mrs cross and son craig of lome park and mr and mrs caruso of brampton congratulations lo brenda june spear daughter of mr and mrs fred spear and mr ed hilher of newfoundland whose wedding look place on saturday afternoon on their lawn at their home on the town line the reception and wedding supper were also held on the lawn when about 90 guests were present mrs dennis hill of momsburg visited with her sister mrs and mr fred spell and family for a few days last week a very happy afternoon was held for mr and mrs court at maple view lodge it was the occasion of their 59th wedding anniversary when their family and grand children gathered with them to enjoy an afternoon together a beautiful picnic supper was held on the lawn where the table was centered with an anniversary cake churchill friends join in wishing mr and mrs court the very best in life a paper drive will be held for the c c c w in october the date to be announced later newspapers magazines corrugated cardboard boxes rags and iron can be left at the home of mr wallace swackhamer near that date mr and mrs w thompson acton accompanied by mrs tressa keeler and mr william mcarthur erin attended a picnic at the home of mr and mrs ken hall rr 2 guelph on sunday afternoon mr and mrs wilfred waldie entertained the wedding party after the rehearsal of their ton david and miss patricia luck of georgetown at a buffet supper at their home maple view lodge last thursday evening mr and mrs albert luck of georgetown patricias parents were also guests mr and mrs f macarthur spent sunday afternoon with leroy and be mice and family and
